This wine is composed of Zweigelt and Merlot.
Often the ratio is 50:50, but depending on the vintage and maturity, one of the of the two varieties predominate. The grapes are of course harvested at the same time which can sometimes be difficult, because Merlot usually ripens a little later than Zweigelt, but the Zweigelt is more sensitive, so it is usually he who determines the harvest time.
In the nose, Gerrat shows deep, dark fruit and hints of sweet spices, while on the palate one can taste the concentrated flavours of dark cherries and ripe plums, leading to a finish that is long and spicy.
