Traditionally, the last vintage at our winery creates some excitement just before the harvest: the 1ÖTW Erste Lagen wines go on sale at the beginning of September. The 2022 vintage has produced very elegant wines that impress with their fine complexity and expressiveness.

With the Riesling Ried Vordernberg 1ÖTW 2022 and the Riesling Ried Moosburgerin 1ÖTW 2022, we have a somewhat smaller range of 1ÖTW wines than usual this fall. This year, for the first time, the GV Vordernberg 2022 is allowed to age a few months longer in wooden barrels. And the GV Moosburgerin 2022 does not exist – 2021 was its last vintage, because the Riesling has been growing in the vineyard since last year. Our sister winery Vorspannhof Mayr has stepped into the breach with Grüner Veltliner Ried Gebling 1ÖTW 2022 and Riesling Ried Kremser Marthal 1ÖTW 2022, two current 1ÖTW wines.

The first opportunity for tasting is September 2 at Schloss Grafenegg, where some 240 Erste Lagen wines will be presented at the official presentation of all member wineries of the Austrian Traditionsweingüter.

One week later, on September 9, we will open the doors of our winery as part of the Weinherbst Kremstal and give you the opportunity to get to know the entire current range of wines from us and our sister winery Weingut Buchegger. On this day, 31 wineries throughout the Krems Valley invite you to taste their wines. On this day 31 wineries in the entire Kremstal invite you to taste their wines. their wines.

On September 16 and 17, we will be participating with a good 70 other top Austrian wineries in the Gault & Millau Genussmesse at Vienna’s Kursalon Hübner.

And on September 25, we will be represented with the Buchegger winery at the Falstaff Sparkling Wine Festival 2023 in Vienna’s MuseumsQuartier.
